Good samaritan or a bitch?

so one of the main things I've had bug me lately and something I've no clue if it's true (and should definitely get to the bottom of) is a comment that transpired about a month ago. While attending a couple's wedding (and under the impression that they were very good friends) I was told by someone that I was the bride's bitch. Now, I've always been the good samaritan type, going out of my way to help others at the drop of a hat, or always being there when someone needed either a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on. It's in my nature, was something my ex-wife was highly drawn to, and something I guess people somewhat take for granted about me nowadays. However, none of these actions I have ever intended to be claimed someone's bitch. Maybe that's the problem, too many people only watching out for themselves, that when they see someone assist another person, that person is labeled their bitch. I don't know, but to be honest, I didn't care for it, and really do need to get to the bottom of it... stay tuned for more regarding this.
